Vivek Vasudevan

Post-doctoral Research Fellow

Department of Biomedical Engineering

Dr. Vivek Vasudevan received his Ph.D. degree for his research on the hydrodynamic and dispersion behavior in silica monoliths investigated through CFD studies on a 3D computational mimic reconstructed from nano-CT scans. He then worked as a research fellow at NTU on the optimization of a high-capacity passive chilled ceiling panel design via CFD simulations of thermal comfort in an environment conditioned by the panels. He has been working on CFD simulation techniques for 10+ years, with a wide range of applications including laminar flow, hydrodynamics, dispersion, heat transfer, natural convection, radiation, etc. He has mentored several FYP students and has been actively involved in various levels of teaching and tutoring activities including Separation Processes, Thermodynamics, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, etc. at NUS, NTU and Ngee Ann Poly. His current research is to study the hemodynamics in porcine ventricular systems. He joined the Department of Bioengineering at NUS in Jan 2016.
