Candidate will be responsible for managing the medical equipment in the Hospital. This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, promoting proper usage and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Candidate will carry out acceptance testing of new equipment, investigate equipment-related incidents and manage service contracts. Candidate will also develop tender specifications for equipment, as well as participate in evaluation and recommendation for purchase of new equipment.

Requirement

The laboratory for Immuno Bioengineering Research and Applications (LIBRA) at New York University Abu Dhabi invites individuals to be appointed as a Post-Doctoral Associate in the field of immuno-bioengineering. With focus on the mechanobiology of immune cells, interdisciplinary projects will range from basic mechanistic research to applications that are translatable. We will embrace the complex, yet interesting immune system, making sense of it through adoption of several approaches such as using microfluidic-based and conventional in vitro culture systems, live-imaging platform, tools from molecular biology, and quantitative biology algorithms.

Requirement

(i)

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or in a related field
  • PhDs in bioengineering or engineering with either > 1 year postdoctoral experience, or thesis in a bio-heavy lab can also be considered
  • Experience using transfection technologies, PCR methods, fluorescence activated cell sorting, or microfluidic chips will be an asset for consideration
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English, evolving and adaptable scientific creativity, have ample knowledge in statistics, and thrive within a multidisciplinary team-based research environment

(ii)

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biomaterials, Engineering, Quantitative Biology, or in a related field
  • PhDs in Cell Biology, Immunology training with either > 1 year postdoctoral experience, or thesis in a bioengineering or engineering lab can also be considered
  • Experience with quantitative cellular dynamics, design and micro/nano fabrication technologies, soft biomaterials, or coding custom quantitative biology algorithms will be a valuable asset for consideration
