The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites outstanding candidates with an earned Ph.D. degree for a number of tenure-track faculty positions at the ranks of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the following areas:
NUS has established a University-wide Institute for Neurotechnology research, called SINAPSE (www.sinapseinstitute.org) involving participation of faculty from Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE), Bioengineering, Medicine and Surgery. SINAPSE is jointly and generously funded by NUS as well as the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) with the goal of greatly advancing fundamental neuroscience/neurotechnology research, promote collaborations among institutions and fields, and to encourage cutting edge technology development, medical applications and entrepreneurship. SINAPSE will provide outstanding startup research funding and resources while BioEng will be the tenure track academic homes for the faculty members.
NUS regularly ranks amongst the top 10 universities in Asia and is Singapore’s only comprehensive university. BioEng faculty members teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise undergraduate and graduate student projects and develop funded research programs. Singapore provides excellent research funding opportunities through various funding agencies such as the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF), as well as A*STAR, MINDEF, and other government ministries/ agencies and private sector corporations.
