Research Interests

1) Design of Novel Biodegradable Polymers and Hydrogels
We work on design of novel biodegradable and biocompatible copolymers with block, hyperbranched, star-shaped, and dendritic architectures, which can be used for construction of supramolecular architectures and nano-structures, or for formation of polymeric hydrogels, with potential applications as biomaterials.

2) Self-assembly and Nano-Structures of Novel Macromolecular Systems
We work on supramolecular self-assembly and nano-structures of macromolecular systems built up with novel copolymers and macrocycles such as cyclodextrins, and their structure-function relationships, and applications as biomaterials.

3) Applications of Novel Biomaterials for Drug/Gene Delivery and Tissue Engineering
By applying macromolecular self-assembly systems, we work on developing novel biomaterials for controlled drug release and gene delivery for efficient, targeted, and safe drug and gene therapy, as well as biomaterials for cell encapsulation, cell delivery and cell therapy.
